WITHOUT Scar Master
Scar tissue exhibits excessive trans-epidermal water loss as long as one-year post-wound healing. This abnormally high level of water evaporation stimulates keratinocytes to produce cytokines, which in turn signal the activation of fibroblasts to synthesize collagen. Left unchecked, excessive collagen production can lead to abnormal scarring.
WITH Scar Master
When applied over the scar, it provides occlusion and hydration of the stratum corneum, down-regulating keratinocyte stimulation. Even if the site is covered, Scar Master is semi-permeable, allowing oxygen to enter while maintaining necessary moisture— preventing further signalling to produce more collagen and producing an ideal healing environment. The end result is a smoother, flatter scar and skin with natural colour.
Directions: Apply a thin layer and gently rub into the scar area at least 3 times daily for 8 weeks on newer scars and for 3-6 months on older scars. Begin using once new skin has formed, which usually takes 2-4 weeks after injury or surgery. Make sure any scabs have come off naturally and stitches have been removed. May be used on old scars immediately.
*Important - Only apply Scar Master onto closed wound. Do not use on broken skin. Do not use it immediately after cuts or burns. Simply wait for Scar Master to dry up before applying clothes!
